Soberness and seriousness of mind characterize Mormon as one of the unique Book of Mormon figures. These characteristics were innate in part, and in part brought on by the “continual scene of wickedness and abominations” he had witnessed since he had been “sufficient to behold the ways of man” (Mormon ).   Robert Taber, a Mormon and history professor at the historically black Fayetteville State University, said that The Book of Mormon tells a story about a people who were destroyed by their "ethno-nationalism." Inside the Mormon Mind by Elizabeth Tice is, by far, the most interesting work that I have read in this area. Tice provides information with a personal flavor that makes the work more than just academic. It becomes a journey into the history and the psyche of those who follow this faith.
