      Long before Oscar Diggs' balloon carried him off from the county fair to his destiny as a humbug wizard or a twister turned Dorothy Gale's farmhouse into a flying merry-go-round, Oz groaned under the tyranny of the Wicked Witches the witches and their great enemy, Glinda the Good. Glinda the Good Witch of the North (simply known as Glinda or just as the Good Witch of the North) is a supporting character of The Wizard of Oz who helps and guides Dorothy Gale on her quest to Emerald City to see the great and powerful wizard to send her back to Kansas..
